Getting to Lake Titova means going through the Three Brothers area and then further into a chaos of boulders that fell off the mountain long ago. In some sections you'll lift the bike over half-meter rock steps with help from the team. Tereshkova Peak sits at 3,200m with a clear view down to Big Almaty Lake. Lake Titova is higher — 3,377m — a grim pool of dark water in a stone bowl, snow-covered even in August. The descent is all brakes, sliding down through scree. Physical and mental. Level 7.
Helmet, balaclava, body armor with arm protection, knee pads (worn over your pants), jersey, and gloves.
Water, windbreaker jacket (depending on weather), thick pants, and comfortable closed-toe shoes.

"8 hours to get to a lake that most people have never heard of. Named after the cosmonaut. No other people when we arrived, no trail markings for the last section. The guide navigated by landmarks. Worth every hour."
Максат Е."We didn't see another person for 6 hours. The trail gets progressively rougher and the forest thicker. When the lake finally appears, you realize why not many people bother with the effort."
