Overview
If the standard Ili River ride is a cruise, this one makes you work. The route follows the rocky right bank where the terrain gets technical - singletrack trails winding along cliff edges above the deep water. You pass an MCHS (emergency rescue) training base with its odd structures. The trail eventually reaches the Tamgaly-Tas painted rocks. The distance means you need bikes with large batteries and you need to manage your throttle. Not a route for your first ride, but a solid step up from the light Ili tour.
