Sur-Ron Light Bee X
Light & Easy
55 kg, easy to handle, forgiving on mistakes. The bike most beginners start on. Good for forest trails and learning the basics.

The ride goes up Kargalinka Gorge, leaving the city behind quickly. Forest gives way to alpine meadows as you gain altitude. The trail narrows into a rutted path. The destination is a natural rock balcony - a shelf of stone hanging over a massive green valley. Hikers rarely make it this far, so it's quiet. Just wind and the hum of the motor. The climb is long and will test your legs, but the isolation and the view make it one of the more rewarding rides in the catalog.
Helmet, balaclava, body armor with arm protection, knee pads (worn over your pants), jersey, and gloves.
Water, a windbreaker or jacket (depending on the weather), durable pants, and comfortable closed-toe shoes.

"The Balcony viewpoint in Kargalinka gorge is jaw-dropping. You ride through narrow switchbacks and suddenly - infinite horizon."
Виталий С."One of the best viewpoints near Almaty. The ride up through Kargalinka is demanding but the payoff is incredible. Bring a camera!"

Start at the Medeu ice arena (1,691m), cross a mountain pass at 2,000m on rocky trails, drop into Butakovka gorge. Short hike to a 30-meter waterfall at the end.

Same start as Kok-Zhailau, but instead of turning back, you keep climbing. Rocky trail to 2,500m with views down onto Shymbulak and Medeu that most people never see.

Up through the forest to Kok-Zhailau, back along the razor-thin mountain ridge. Drops on both sides. Requires steady nerves and good balance.
