Sur-Ron Light Bee X
Light & Easy
55 kg, easy to handle, forgiving on mistakes. The bike most beginners start on. Good for forest trails and learning the basics.

This is the light version of our Ili River routes. You leave Almaty and head into the Kazakh steppe - flat, open, fast. The terrain shifts between packed dirt, sandy stretches, and dusty canyon trails along the Ili River. You'll visit Tamgaly-Tas (Painted Rocks), where ancient Buddhist figures are carved into black cliffs. This is where you can actually open up the throttle. No tight forest turns, no steep climbs - just wide open space and the bike doing what it was built for. The ride back through the steppe at full speed is the highlight for most people.
Helmet, balaclava, body armor with arm protection, knee pads (worn over your pants), jersey, and gloves.
Water, a windbreaker or jacket (depending on the weather), durable pants, and comfortable closed-toe shoes.

"Completely different from the mountain tours. Flat steppe, sandy dunes, then suddenly ancient Buddhist carvings on black cliffs by the river. The ride back is wide open, full speed across the desert."
Марат К."The Tamgaly petroglyphs are a UNESCO site - seeing them by e-bike made it special. Hot ride in summer though, bring lots of water!"

15 minutes from the city and you're climbing through forest on rocky dirt. At the top - a wide plateau with a view of all of Almaty. We drink tea up there.

Ridge trail near Dostyk Avenue with seriously steep inclines. Pure dirt, no rocks - just you, gravity, and 880 Nm of torque. Great hill climb practice.

Full-day ride deep into Turgen Gorge. 14 km along a mountain river, through old-growth forest and river crossings, to a 55-meter waterfall. Lunch included.
